Rick Kincel's Airflow 101 Class

September 30, 2015, Coburn's HVAC Trainer, Rick Kincel, taught an Airflow 101 class at the Plumbers Union Hall in Harahan LA. The SELACACI meeting was well attended with 85 students present for the 2.5 hour course.

SELACACI Selacaci.org is a nonprofit group of Energy raters, Builders, Consultants, HVAC techs, Code officials, and Tech school students, and Vendors, that share ideas about the home and commercial buildings as an integrated system.
The students were entertained and educated learning differences in CFM and FPM, why ductwork sweats, negative and positive home pressurization, and the flow of Heat, Dirt, and Moisture into our homes here in the deep South. The curriculum was fast paced and lively and everyone left with a better perspective of the new tools and calculations that have long replaced the old school "Handometer".

Rick will begin his Fall training next week with Heat Pump Basics and will travel the Coburn's footprint sharing this class with all HVAC technicians interested. Next Spring he will bring an expanded version of this Airflow class to the same Coburn's footprint. Those dates and locations are to be determined.
Keep up with the trainings available through Coburn Supply Company by visiting the Education/Training Courses page.
