As most people, I have faced challenges on my way to reaching my career goals. The thing I am most proud of achieving is the ability to look back on those challenges and continue to learn and grow from them. They are what have made me what I am today and I could not be prouder or happier. People often think challenges or failures need to be quickly moved on from or forgotten about, but I believe they are vital to building a well-rounded professional career and balanced life. The more you experience, the more you will be able to apply to conquering future challenges. I have a long way to go before reaching all of my career goals, but being a 40 under 40 honoree validates that I am on the right track. It is an honor that people I admire took time out of their busy lives to nominate me, and I expect to continue to make them proud. Like so many other young professionals, balancing life as a wife, mother of two young children, a business professional and active citizen can be overwhelming at times, but at the end of the day is extremely rewarding. The honor of being included in this year’s 40 Under 40 will give me an avenue to inspire other young professionals that it is possible to have a successful career as well as a fulfilling family life.
