Scroll compressors were once marketed as capable of handling small amounts of liquid refrigerant. That claim is outdated. Any liquid in the suction line is drawn directly into the scroll plates at startup and will shatter them. If a compressor "made a loud noise and doesn't pump," liquid in the suction line is likely the cause. The fix is simple: use a liquid charging adapter when charging R-410A instead of charging liquid into the suction line.
